For this project, in class we tested all the different experiments before putting them into our video. All the groups came up with ideas for each of their videos that had to include and explain the reasoning for the special effects that we learned in class. We had about two weeks to film and edit our clips together. After we presented in class, the class came back to class to present in different classrooms to parents and family members. The Movie we decided on was a movie trailer for the already produce movie, Sky high. We included five different types of chemistry special effects. Our videos had to be from three to five minutes. Our was about three minutes and twenty seconds.
Reflection I really enjoyed this project. I thought it was a huge learning experience. Also, I thought it was interesting how we combined the special effects into our video. I learned that I am good at choosing an idea and expanding it. I was able to take our video and expand on the different scenes. Our group worked well together while we each had a task to be done. Mikayla and I were the filmers, Emilie was the researcher, and Gabby was the editor. I learned each of the different chemistry effects about how and why they happened. I especially thought the elephant toothpaste was very interesting. One thing we did bad was we put a lot of pressure on Gabby to edit everything while learning how to edit. Another thing was that our video did not make complete sense. We should have figured out a way to make the movie and scenes transition better. All in all this was a fun project and I surely enjoyed doing it.
